Trip Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrival - Helsinki - Explore Helsinki

 

• You need to reach Helsinki by afternoon or evening.

• Check in at the accommodation, centrally located and close to major attractions. The capital city has a lot to offer.

• You are heading to Finland's capital, so start your travel by visiting the Aleksanterinkatu – one of the main streets of the city.

• Visit the Helsinki Cathedral 

• Enjoy the cafe culture and nightlife of this city.

• The night is free. You may visit A21 Decades Bar for drinks.

 

Day 2: Check out - Explore Helsinki / Overnight train to Rovaniemi

 

• Start your day with breakfast at the accommodation.

• Check out - drop bags at the train station lockers and head out for a day trip to Suomenlinna island

• Take a ferry and head to the UNESCO World Heritage site - Suomenlinna 

• Relax till evening and then head for a great Sauna experience, which is a must when in Finland

• Late night after a sauna experience - head to the train station and board your overnight train to Rovaniemi

 

Day 3: Reach Rovaniemi /Bus to Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort Igloo resort 

 

Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland, is home to an eclectic – and unusual – array of museums

• Reach in the morning.

• Take a Bus to Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort Igloo Village (approx. 3 hours), known for its glass igloos and pristine wilderness views.

• Check into your glass igloo and relax with spectacular Arctic landscapes surrounding you.

• Enjoy the vibe, or you can choose any outdoor activities. 

 

Day 4: After Breakfast - Late Start - Bus to Ivalo and explore the Areas close by Lake Inari 

 

• ​After breakfast, check out and take a leisurely bus drive to Ivalo

• Explore areas around Lake Inari; the lake is magical in winter, often frozen and surrounded by snow-laden forests.

• Optional activities: Consider ice fishing or a gentle snowshoeing trek in the area.

 

Day 5: Explore Ivalo

 

• Spend the day exploring Ivalo’s winter wonderland.

• ​Suggested activities: Dog sledding, reindeer safaris, or snowmobiling, which provide an exciting way to experience the landscape.

 

Day 6: Bus Drive from Ivalo to Utsjoki and explore the places on the way

 ​

• Check out and start the scenic bus drive towards Utsjoki, Finland’s northernmost municipality

• Along the Way: Make stops to appreciate frozen rivers and vast snowy landscapes.

• Spot local wildlife and capture photos of this untouched terrain.

• Evening: Check into your accommodation in Utsjoki and settle in for a cozy night.

 

Day 7:  Enjoy the Property - Snowmobile tour in Night Chasing Aurora ( Optional and will be booked later )

• Enjoy your beautiful surroundings and make the most of the property’s amenities.

• Join a Snowmobile Aurora Tour in search of the Northern Lights.

 

Day 8: Drive from Utsjoki to Saariselka and stay in the Log wooden Cabins 

 

• Check out from Utsjoki and begin your drive to Saariselkä 

• Enjoy stunning Arctic scenery and consider a stop for lunch or hot chocolate at a cozy spot en route.

• Check into your charming log cabin in Saariselkä, where you can relax and enjoy a warm, rustic evening.

Day 9: Check out / Drive to Rovaniemi / Northern Lights tour

 

• After breakfast, check out and travel back to Rovaniemi.

• Check in at the accommodation.

• Take time to explore more of Rovaniemi or visit attractions you may have missed.

• Embark on an unforgettable Northern Lights tour in Rovaniemi for another chance to witness the auroras in Lapland’s clear skies.

Day 10: Santa Claus Village / Polar Ice Breaker Cruise ( Optional ) 

 

• Today, after breakfast, head for a tour of the Santa Claus village, where you visit and meet Santa Claus in person

• Afternoon (Optional): Polar Ice Breaker Cruise: Join this unique cruise on a frozen sea, where you’ll experience ice-breaking and can even try a floating survival suit.

• Relax and enjoy a farewell dinner in Rovaniemi.

Day 11: Flight back to Helsinki / Explore Helsinki 

 

• Check out and catch a flight back to Helsinki.

• Return to Helsinki and enjoy your final exploration of the city.

• Take a stroll through Seurasaari Open-Air Museum or revisit favorite spots in the city.

Day 12: Flight back to India 

 

• Check out and catch your flight back to India with beautiful memories of Finland's magical winter landscapes.
