Jaipur City History
Jaipur one of the most beautiful city of India that I have come across in my travels.
The largest in Rajasthan and first planned city of India founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II also known as PINK CITY because of it's distinctly coloured buildings and some places still have that colour.
The city is known for its culture,its magnificent forts Amer fort,Nahargarh fort,Jaigarh fort,Hawa Mahal and temples like Birla mandir.The city was planned according to Indian Vedic planning by a bengali Brahmin.The city is must visit in Rajasthan and is part of Golden Triangle the other two cities are Agra and New Delhi.
It is one of the biggest cannon on the wheels in the world and is currently at Jaigarh fort.It was built under the reign of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II
It has only been used once for test firing which had 100kgs of gunpowder and distance covered by it was 35 Kgs.

Jaigarh fort --known for Jaivana the world's biggest cannon.It is said that it was used once and that too for test firing.From the fort you get great panoramic views of the city.
Nahargarh fort the smallest of the three the famous movie "Rang De Basanti" was shot there.The fort gives spectacular views of the city.
Amber fort my personal favourite is known for Hindu-Muslim architecture.It is named after the Amber town.It has lot of amazing sites inside like Sheesh Mahal,Mughal garden,Diwan-i-aam,Diwan-i-khaas or you can take an elephant ride till the top.
It is a mix of three architectural styles Mughal,Rajput and European
There are two silver urn which are made of 14000 silver coins.They were made for Sawai Madho Singh ji when he was going to England to carry water from Ganga river.
Heritage & Culture &City Palace & Hawa Mahal
City palace is a mix of both Rajput and Mughal architecture which was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II and has lot of buildings and courtyards inside.
Hawa Mahal or the Palace of breeze is a 5 storey red sandstone building which was built as an extension to City palace for women to see what's happening on the road without getting noticed.It has 750 windows.It's in the old city so you get to explore local markets of jaipur.
