Trip Itinerary

 

• The trip starts in Helsinki. All travelers have to reach Helsinki by afternoon or evening.

• The meeting point for all is Hostel.

 

Day 1: The trip starts in Helsinki 

 

• You need to reach Helsinki by afternoon or evening.

• Check-In Hostel - The hotel would be centrally located and would be close to all the places we would be exploring. The capital city has a lot to offer.

• You are heading to Finland's capital so start your travel by visiting the  - Aleksanterinkatu – one of the main streets of the city.

• Visit the Helsinki Cathedral 

• Enjoy the cafe culture and nightlife of this city.

• The night is all yours, and if you have nothing to do please head to A21 Decades Bar to try some cool drinks. 

 

Day 2:  Explore Helsinki 

 

• Start your day with Breakfast at the hotel 

• Head out for a self-guided walking tour of the city 

• LUNCH

• Post Lunch Take a ferry and head to the UNESCO World Heritage site - Suomenlinna 

• After returning in the evening head for a great Sauna experience which is a must when in Finland

• Return to your accommodation late night after a sauna experience  

 

Day 3: Flight to Ivalo / Transfer to Igloo Resort by bus / Stay at Igloo resort

• After an early breakfast board the flight from Helsinki to Ivalo

• Transfer to Igloo Resort by bus

• Lunch in the resort

• Check-in: explore the Igloo resort

• Induldge yourself in various activities

 

Day 4: Transfer by bus from Igloo Resort to Rovaniemi / Explore Santa Village / Evening Northern Lights tour

Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland, is home to an eclectic – and unusual – array of museums

• Reach Rovaniemi 

• Stay In boutique hostel - The hostel would be centrally located and would be close to all the places we would be exploring.

• After settling in start exploring the beautiful Rovaniemi town. Make yourself comfortable - relax and enjoy the very first day at leisure.

• Visit the local markets and try some local Finnish Lapland food.

• Explore Santa Village (if time permits)

• Evening head out for a guided tour of Northern Lights Chase - Bonfire + Cookies + Hot tea and another guidance from a very professional photographer

Day 5: Explore Rovaniemi / Santa Claus Villa

• Today, have a late start to the day

• Post breakfast head for a tour of the Santa Claus village where you visit and meet Santa Claus in person

• Explore the village till late evening 

• Return to the hostel 

• If you didn't get to see the Northern Lights the previous night try again ( PAID )

Day 6: Polar Ice Breaker Cruise ( Optional ) / Explore Rovaniemi

• Experience Polar Ice Breaker Cruise

• OR Start your day by visiting Ranua National Park where you get to see all the Arctic Wildlife  OR  go hiking in the Arctic or Canoe trip 

• OR visit Husky / Reindeer farms 

• OR head to the Arctic Snowhotel and experience something different ( Subject to opening )

• Evening at leisure or head out for a Lappish dinner experience

Day 7: Rovaniemi to Tromsø flight / Northern Lights tour

• Take a morning flight and head to Tromsø 

• Reach by afternoon/evening as per flight connection

• Explore the city - Grab a quick meal 

• Evening head for your Northern Lights tour

Day 8: Explore Tromsø

• After breakfast, you have an option to explore the city - self-guided or head out for a whale-watching tour ( optional )

• Return by late noon 

• Relax 

• Explore the city center

• In the evening head out for the Chasing the Northern Lights tour if unlucky the previous night ( 50% of the amount to be paid if going again )

 

Day 9 - Tromsø to Oslo / Explore Oslo

• Depart from Tromsø to Oslo 

• Check-In - The hostel would be centrally located and would be close to all the places you would be exploring. The capital city has a lot to offer.

• Walking tour of the main street Karl Johans gate. ( info would be provided in the guidebook )

• Dinner and drinks at Grünerløkka.

Day 10 - Explore Oslo 

​

• You start your day early today by exploring the beautiful "Vigeland Sculpture Park" known for displaying the works of Gustav Vigeland.

• Explore Kvadraturen - the Historical center of Oslo. A must-visit. Very old buildings, museums, and art galleries. Most of the city’s oldest buildings are present in this part of the city. 

• You spend your time walking and getting to know this city. Take the walk up to the Royal Palace from Karl Johan gate and explore the streets around it.​

• Evening dinner and drinks

Day 11 - Departure

• Airport transfer from Ivalo to Igloo Resort one way

• Stay in Igloo Resort Small Glass Igloo West Village with breakfast and dinner included 

• Bus transfer to Rovaniemi from Ivalo ( timings will be informed once tickets open down the road )

• Stay in Rovaniemi in a female dorm with breakfast NOT included

• Northern Light chase tour in Rovaniemi in group 

• Flight from Rovaniemi to Tromsø with checked baggage of 23kg 

• Stay in Tromsø in a double room with breakfast not included

• Northern Lights tour in Tromsø included in group

• Flight from Tromsø to Oslo with 23kg checked baggage included ( Non-refundable )

• Stay in Oslo in a Private room with breakfast included in 3* hotel

• Flights from India to India both way

• Travel Insurance

• Visa fees 

• Lunch & dinner and drinks at all times and meals if not mentioned specifically

• Anything not mentioned 

• Internal travel in the city and transfers from stations and airports wherever not mentioned

 

Terms & Conditions

 

• You are an adult and you have to take full responsibility for yourself at all times and respect other cultures.

•  If you are caught doing anything illegal you will be facing the consequences alone, travel to discover will not come into the picture.

• You have to follow all the instructions given by the trip leader at all times.

• When you are traveling alone you have to tell the team about your whereabouts.

• You have to abide by all the rules and regulations of another country.

• You would be traveling with other people, you have to respect everyone's privacy.

• We have a plan/itinerary for the whole trip but some things might get changed according to the situation please be prepared.(like flight delays etc)

• No refund in case of cancellation of flights or interconnecting flights/trains.

• We would be staying in a backpacker hostel all the time and would be sharing the room with other people, you are responsible for your own stuff and yourself
