• The trip starts in Helsinki. All travelers have to reach Helsinki by 18th Dec'18 afternoon or evening.

• Meeting point for all is Hostel.

 

Day 1: Trip starts in Helsinki 

 

• You need to reach Helsinki by 18th Dec afternoon or evening.

• Check-In hostel - The hostel would be centrally located and would be close to all the places we would be exploring. The capital city has a lot to offer.

• You are heading to Finland during Christmas time so start your travel by visiting the  - Aleksanterinkatu – the official Christmas street. 

• Explore the Thomas market for all the festive vibes it has to offer.

• Evening - head to center to a good local bar and enjoy the night with some beers and get to know this city more.

• The night is all yours.

 

Day 2: Helsinki

 

• Finns are coffee lovers - Start your day with a good Breakfast and coffee

• Let's do a little sightseeing - for all art and architecture lovers - Kiasma museum is great, or visit the Design Museum 

• Head for a concert at one of the most beautiful churches in Helsinki - not to be missed - Temppeliauko Church or known as Rock Church

• For food /Lunch, head to Kallio district 

• Later explore some beautiful streets of Finland and try to get your hands on some good stuff all depending on your taste.

• The evening makes a visit to the very famous Christmas market at Senate Square and strolls across the beautiful shops with a Glogi drink.

• The night is all yours

 

Day 3 & 4 & 5: Yllas 

After an early breakfast take a flight to Yllas and you head to another nature paradise in North of Finland - YLLAS

 

• Reach by afternoon

• Check-in into a very beautiful hostel which is right in the middle of nature

• Get to know the basic of Skiing as it has a ski resort, go for Cross-country skiing 

• Fat biking and exploring on your own or Go for husky rides 

• Enjoy Sauna at stay / Relax in middle of nature 

• Visit the beautiful village of Äkäslompolo 

• Free Days to relax in nature

 

Day 6: Rovaniemi - Lapland - Time to Visit Santa Claus - Arctic Circle Northern Light Belt

Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland, is home to an eclectic – and unusual – an array of museums

 

• Stay In backpack hostel - The hostel would be centrally located and would be close to all the places we would be exploring.

• After settling in exploring the beautiful Rovaniemi town and in evening head for a beautiful ceremony at the Santa Claus village to see Santa leave with his elves for a tour of the world for giving out gifts.

• The evening explore some Christmas markets in the city

 

Day 7: Rovaniemi - Lapland 

 

• Today, after breakfast head for a tour of the Santa Claus village where you visit and meet the Santa Claus in person

• Enjoy the Christmas with the rest of the city, In the evening head to the Rovaniemi Cathedral for evening mass and then Christmas Dinner.

 

Day 8: Rovaniemi - Lapland 

 

• Merry Christmas, Morning Prayers

•  Relax - make a visit to the Rauna National park today as its a holiday so it would be best to visit the Park

• The evening you all head out for a guided tour of Northern Lights Chase 

 

Day 9: Rovaniemi - Lapland 

 

• After Breakfast, start your day by visiting the Arktikum Science Museum and Rovaniemi Art Museum - the northernmost museum of Europe with lots to see and learn. 

• Relax - head out for Shopping - Boxing Day 

• Last night in Rovaniemi - always a big party after Christmas 

 

Day 10 & 11: Ivalo  

Take a bus from Rovaniemi to Ivalo

 

• After an early breakfast, You head up to North of Finland 

• Check-in: stay in Apartment

• Visit the Ivalo city center 

• You are free to choose among the activities you want to do. Snowmobiling, Husky Safari etc

• Next two days enjoy Ivalo and your stay in a beautiful apartment

 

Day 12: Head to Helsinki with an early morning flight from Ivalo  

 

• Trip ends

• Due to bad weather - if any route changes or plan change -- the extra cost would be incurred individually *

• You are an adult and you have to take full responsibility for yourself at all times and respect other culture.

•  If you are caught doing anything illegal you would be facing the consequences alone, travel to discover will not come into the picture.

• You have to follow all the instructions told by the trip leader at all times.

• When you are traveling alone you have to tell the team about your whereabouts.

• You have to abide by all rules and regulation of another country.

• You would be traveling with other people, you have to respect everyone's privacy.

• We have a plan/itinerary for the whole trip but some things might get changed according to the situation please be prepared.(like flight delays etc)

• No refund in case of cancellation of flights of interconnecting flights/trains.

• We would be staying in backpacker hostel all the time and would be sharing the room with other people, you are responsible for your own stuff and yourself
