Trip Itinerary

 

• The trip starts in Helsinki. All travelers have to reach Helsinki by afternoon or evening.

• The meeting point for all is Hostel.

 

Day 1: The trip starts in Helsinki 

 

• You need to reach Helsinki by afternoon or evening.

• Check-In Hostel - The hotel would be centrally located and would be close to all the places we would be exploring. The capital city has a lot to offer.

• You are heading to Finland's capital so start your travel by visiting the  - Aleksanterinkatu – one of the main streets of the city.

• Visit the Helsinki Cathedral 

• Enjoy the cafe culture and nightlife of this city.

• The night is all yours, and if you have nothing to do please head to A21 Decades Bar to try some cool drinks. 

 

Day 2: Rovaniemi - Lapland - Time to Visit Santa Claus - Arctic Circle Northern Light Belt

 

Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland, is home to an eclectic – and unusual – array of museums

• Check out early morning 

• Take an early morning flight to Rovaniemi

• Reach in morning 

• Stay In boutique hostel - The hostel would be centrally located and would be close to all the places we would be exploring.

• After settling in start exploring the beautiful Rovaniemi town. Make yourself comfortable - relax and enjoy the very first day at leisure.

• Visit the local markets and try some local Finnish Lapland food.

• Northern Lights tour in the evening 

 

Day 3: Rovaniemi - Lapland 

 

• Today, after breakfast head for a tour of the Santa Claus village where you visit and meet Santa Claus in person

• Explore the whole village till Lunch and then return by late afternoon and get ready for your Northern light tour in the evening.

• In the evening you all head out for a guided tour of Northern Lights Chase - Bonfire + Cookies + Hot tea and another guidance from a very professional photographer

 

Day 4: Rovaniemi / Ivalo  

 

• After an early breakfast catch the bus from Rovaniemi to Ivalo and head up to North Finland 

• Reach by afternoon 

• Lunch in the center

• Check-in: explore Ivalo 

• In the evening head for a self-guided Northern Light Chase tour

 

Day 5: Ivalo / Rovaniemi

 

• After breakfast  explore the city and local market 

• Relax in your Sauna in an apartment 

• Head back to Rovaniemi - Reach by late afternoon

• Check-in at the same hostel 

• Explore Rovaniemi

• Dinner and drinks or go for one of the excursions in Rovaniemi

 

Day 6: Rovaniemi - Lapland 

 

• Take a slow day, and explore this beautiful city - visit all three museums of Lapland which give you great insight into Polar life and Northern lights as well. 

• Explore the art and crafts museum and also the design side of Finnish culture 

• In the afternoon - head for a snowmobile tour - an optional activity 

• Or head for a self-spotting Northern light tour in the city's hidden spots 

• Enjoy the nightlife of this incredible city

 

Day 8: Rovaniemi - Lapland 

 

• After Breakfast, get to know the wildlife of the Polar region and head for a day to Ranua Wildlife Park to spot some Polar Bears. A must-visit experience 

• Last evening - relax and unwind - if willing then head for a Finnish Sauna experience in deep woods ( Can be arranged - expect around 180 Eur per person ) - a great way to end your trip.

 

Day 9: Helsinki / Flight from Rovaniemi

 

• Reach Helsinki in the morning and you can either explore the city center or head to the airport for your onward flight journey

• Stay in a backpack hostel in Helsinki breakfast is not included

• Flight from Helsinki to Rovaniemi on 17th March'24 with checked baggage included 

• Stay in Rovaniemi in a great boutique hostel - Female Dorms or Mixed Dorms breakfast is not included at both times 

• Stay in Ivalo in a Private Superior room with a Sauna including breakfast 

• Northern Light tour for 1 night in Rovaniemi - With Chase, Campfire 

• Rovaniemi to Ivalo bus transfer to and fro

• Return flight from Rovaniemi to Helsinki on 23rd March'24 with checked baggage included around 09:15 Am

 

Exclusions:

 

• Flights from India to Finland both ways

• Travel Insurance

• Visa fees 

• Large Glass Igloo stay with Breakfast and Dinner included for 1 night in Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort (A very famous Igloo resort ) and 1-night stay in Apartment two bedroom - with Sauna 

• OR Stay in the Small cabin in East village with Breakfast and Dinner included for 1 night in Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort (A very famous Igloo resort ) and a 1-night stay in an Apartment two bedroom 

• Lunch & dinner and drinks at all times 

• Anything not mentioned 

• Due to bad weather - if any route changes or plan changes -- the extra cost would be incurred individually *

 

Terms & Conditions

 

• You are an adult and you have to take full responsibility for yourself at all times and respect other cultures.

•  If you are caught doing anything illegal you will be facing the consequences alone, travel to discover will not come into the picture.

• You have to follow all the instructions given by the trip leader at all times.

• When you are traveling alone you have to tell the team about your whereabouts.

• You have to abide by all the rules and regulations of another country.

• You would be traveling with other people, you have to respect everyone's privacy.

• We have a plan/itinerary for the whole trip but some things might get changed according to the situation please be prepared.(like flight delays etc)

• No refund in case of cancellation of flights or interconnecting flights/trains.

• We would be staying in a backpacker hostel all the time and would be sharing the room with other people, you are responsible for your own stuff and yourself
