Trip Itinerary

 

Your trip starts in Kigali, Rwanda.  

​

Day 1 - Arrival at Kigali International Airport

​

  • Reach Kigali by the afternoon. Check-in at the hostel.

  • After lunch, visit Inema Arts Center.

  • Inema Center is an arts centre and art gallery. The centre was founded in 2012 by two painters: Innocent Nkurunziza and Emmanuel Nkuranga.

  • Evening, you can explore Kimironko Market.

  • This market is also popular for fresh fish and Rwandan traditional local food.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 2 - Kigali 

​

  • After breakfast, head out to explore Kigali Genocide Memorial. This tribute to victims of the 1994 Rwandan genocide includes exhibits, graves & a garden.

  • After that, visit Nyamirambo Women's Center.

  • NWC is a Rwandan NGO, that was launched at the end of 2007 by 18 Rwandese women living in Nyamirambo, Kigali.

  • Lunch. Evening, explore Rwanda Art Museum.

  • You can also head out to Question Coffee Café.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 3 - Transfer to Nyungwe Forest.

​

  • After breakfast, check out and leave for Nyungwe Forest.

  • Check-in at the hotel.

  • After lunch, head out to explore Nyuenwe National Park.

  • Today, you will head out for Chimpanzee Trekking.

  • Nyungwe has a large population of chimpanzees. And many who visit the park often go on a chimpanzee tracking adventure. There is no one season for chimpanzee tracking. It can be done all year round.

  • Evening, enjoy birdwatching at the park.

  • Return to the hotel.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 4 - Nyungwe Forest.

​

  • After breakfast, head out for hiking at the Nyungwe Forest.

  • Igishigishigi Trail is the shortest trail along which you also find the canopy walk; another adrenaline-charged experience.

  • The canopy walk is a 2-hour stroll on a 200meters long trail 50 meters above the forest cover and one of the most exhilarating activities to do at Nyungwe Forest National Park.

  • Return to the hotel.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 5 - Transfer to Lake Kivu 

​

  • After breakfast, check out and leave for Lake Kivu.

  • Check-in at the hotel.

  • After lunch, visit the beautiful Lake Kivu.

  • Lake Kivu is one of the great lakes of East Africa, situated between Congo to the west and Rwanda to the east.

  • Take a boat cruise and enjoy bird watching.

  • Evening return back to the hotel.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 6 - Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

​

  • After breakfast, check out and leave for Volcanoes National Park.

  • Check-in at the hotel.

  • After lunch, go for mountain gorilla tracking at the park.

  • The national park is home to 10 habituated gorilla families available for trekking.

  • Day trip to mountain gorilla tracking.

  • Evening return back to the hotel.

  • Dinner & drinks.

 Day 7 - Volcanoes National Park

​

  • After breakfast, head out for golden monkey trekking.

  • Golden monkeys are exceptional creatures which you should not miss out on.

  • It is only in Volcanoes wanda and Mgahinga gorilla national parks that travellers can see golden monkeys in their natural habitats.

  • Return back to hotel.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 8 - Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

​

  • After breakfast, check out and leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

  • Check-in at the hotel.

  • After lunch, head out for a Gorilla habituation experience.

  • Here you will get a chance to spend 4 hours with the mountain gorillas under the habituation process in the Rushaga region.

  • Evening, enjoy birdwatching.

  • Return back to the hotel.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 9 - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

​

  • After breakfast, head out for a cultural tour of Batwa.

  • Meeting the Batwa tribe will give you an opportunity to interact with the Batwa people.

  • Learn about their lifestyles, visit their traditional homestay and many more activities to do here.

  • Evening, Return back to the hotel.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 10 - Queen Elizabeth National Park

​

  • After breakfast, check out and leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park.

  • Check-in at the hotel.

  • After lunch, take nature walks at the Maramagambo Forest.

  • Maramagambo forest has about 9 species of primates including chimpanzees, L’Hoest’s monkeys, Vervet monkeys, bush babies, red-tailed monkeys and baboons.

  • You can also take a boat cruise.

  • This boat cruise is organized along the Kazinga Channel. This channel connects Lake George to Lake Edward and is the single point where most of the park’s animals gather to drink, hunt and bathe.

  • Dinner & Drinks.

Day 11 - Departure

​

  • After breakfast, leave for Entebbe International Airport.

  • The trip ends here.

  • We have a plan/itinerary for the whole trip but some things might get changed according to the situation please be prepared. (like flight delays etc)

  • No refund in case of cancellation of flights or interconnecting flights/trains.

  • We would be staying in a backpacker hostel all the time and would be sharing the room with other people, you are responsible for your own stuff and yourself
